Made to kill - End of the Road for Endosulfan?

A new report from the Environmental Justice Foundation, reveals the latest on Endosulfan and we would love you to do something about it!

As a pesticide, endosulfan does its job well. Too well. A known killer and toxic to the environment, endosulfan remains a serious health hazard. Despite being banned in 62 countries, its production and use continues to poison people and the environment as a handful of countries, led by India, stand in the way of a global ban.

Our latest report ‘End of the Road for Endosulfan’, published this month, details the environmental and human impacts of one of the world’s most dangerous and pervasive pesticides, highlighting why it should be banned globally.

Endosulfan is readily absorbed by humans via the stomach, lungs and through the skin and exposure to it has been linked to congenital physical disorders, cancer and even death. As a POP (persistent organic pollutant), endosulfan degrades slowly and can travel great distances from where it has been applied.

Endosufan has been found in remote regions such as the Arctic, Antarctic, Alps and the Himalayas. Traces of it have been discovered in animals across the world - from polar bears to crocodiles to minke whales.

Based on the evidence in this report EJF can continue its work pushing for a global ban on this deadly pesticide. But we can’t do it alone.

This short report is free to download. Please download it today. Read it. Talk about it. Share it with your friends and colleagues and if you feel inspired then join us and add your voice and energy to the campaign.
