Canada’s first eco fashion awards

Just in time for Earth Day on Thursday, the first ever Canadian Eco-Fashion Awards have been announced. The eco-fashion awards will celebrate designers who are using organic and sustainable products to create fashionable collections.
The nominees for the first Canadian Eco-Fashion Awards are Thieves, Elladora, Elroy, deux fm, Preloved, Nicole Bridger, Nixxi, Paper People Clothing, flora&fauna, Lav & Kush, Laura Chenoweth, Salts Organic Clothing, Revolve Clothing Co. and We3 (twigg&hottie). The nominees will be judged on their designs, materials, and production methods to find the greenest and most fashionable designs in Canada. Any extra green activities like informing consumers on environmental issuesand using green energy will also be taken into consideration.The awards were the idea of Fashion Takes Action (FTA). FTA is a Canadian organization that supports sustainable fashion around the world.
The winner will get a national PR campaign, a spot at Nolcha Fashion Week’s Ethical Fashion Preview in New York City, $1000 in eco-friendly fabric, and a look book photo shoot among other things.
