The Big Swish, London
by Deborah Miarkowska
London, Fashion Capital of the world, is now host to the BIG SWISH this coming 21st January at Tiger, Tiger, Picadilly, London.
The BIG SWISH was launched in 2009 and celebrated the UK’s biggest ever clothes swapping roadshow; a collaboration between BigWardrobe.com and our friends at daisygreenmagazine.co.uk. An event that gives a thumbs up to reuse & recycle and donates to charity too.
To date thousands of items of clothing have been swapped by hundreds of women for a ‘new’ wardrobe which cost nothing. And even better still, everything left over was donated to charity . The London BIG SWISH wants to go even further in the quest to reuse & recycle.
Grab your chance to swap your clothes and gain a new wardrobe, listen to live music from The Pheonix Rose, enjoy a charity auction featuring celeb-donated garments (including Lady Gaga and the Kaiser Chiefs) and stalls from gorgeous ethical brands. You can even get a FREE makeover courtesy of Green People as they launch their new gorgeous organic make up collection.
Doors open at 7pm. Bring your donations to Tiger Tiger at 6pm where the team will issue you with your swishing passport.
DaisyGreen Magazine describes how the BIG SWISH works:
- Donate up to 15 items of clothes (your best and cleanest!) and unlimited accessories to the clothing swish
- Any designer items will be included in the Premium Section (specifically for designer and high end labels only; the event team will decide which items qualify on the night)
- You will be issued a swishing passport outlining which items you have donated
- When the countdown begins you enter the swish and take as many items as you have brought. And don’t worry if you don’t get quite enough, anything left over is donated to charity so everyone wins!
The Big Swish is generously sponsored by Greenpeople.co.uk, Credjewellery.com, Fashion-conscience.com, Simpleshoes.com, Bboheme.com in collaboration with daisygreenmagazine.co.uk and bigwardrobe.com.
Tickets are available to buy NOW on line now from HERE and are only a mere£5 each (with £1.50 booking fee) or £7.50 on the door.
