The fall/winter 2009/10 collection from Erica Laurell has an emphasis on accessories.

The hand-dyed silk and the organic alpaka serves a real genuine and luxurious feeling. Beautiful and talented women like Greta Garbo, Mae West and Marlene Dietrich and their sophisticated way of wearing accessories has been an inspiration for Erica’s collection.

She shows us classic berets, hats, brooches and glamorous hairbands crocheted in golden threads. All with a contemporary touch.

erica-laurellThe beautiful colours are inspired from Italian renaissance paintings. There are colours as soft pink, grey and dark blue mixed with stronger colours as yellow, orange and turquoise. They are represented in a variety of patterns, stripes and dots.

The collection is completely produced in Sweden. Selected women all around the country are making the handknitted and crocheted pieces with great precision. This makes every accessory unique and delicate.

This fall/winter collection shows modern handcraft with complex structures, intense colours and all made in luxurious qualities.

Background

Erica Laurell was born in Stockholm, moved to Paris to study fashion at the renowned Studio Bercot. During her second year of education she further developed her great passion for knitting and crochet. After working with designer brands in Paris and Stockholm, Erica Laurell decided to start her own brand during 2005. The crochet handcraft is the most significant for Erica Laurell and to always develop this technique and mix it into todays fashion. Also the development of organic materials is very important to her. ”I want to make beautiful pieces that make people feel happy and unique with as little compact on the environment as possible”.erica-laurell-iii
