Five Easy Actions from EJF 2010
by Deborah Miarkowska
Will you help the Environmental Justice Foundation make a difference in 2010?
After a couple of weeks of festivities let environmental justice be the inspiration to get active!
In the face of the deeply dispiriting result at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen we hope that continued individual and collective action will make a real difference in 2010 and beyond.
Together we must make 2010 the start of a decade of effective action for environmental justice whether it’s marching through the streets, cycling to Paris or sending letters and signing petitions for change.
Be the change with 5 easy actions in 2010
To get you started we’ve come up with 5 easy actions you can take which could make a big difference:
Demand real action on climate change from our World Leaders
After two weeks of hard negotiation between nearly 200 countries, building on two years of background negotiation, the United Nations Climate Change Conference ultimately failed to deliver. Now more than ever we must urge our leaders to take a leadership role to tackle the causes of climate change.

Break a sweat for environmental justice
Will you cycle 300 miles from London to Paris to help EJF’s work giving a voice to marginalised communities in the developing world whose lives are blighted by environmental destruction? From the rolling hills of Kent to cheering supporters lining the streets to the Eiffel Tower it’ll be an experience you’ll never forget.

Ban a deadly pesticide
Corrupt organisations profiting millions from the sale of the deadly pesticide endosulfan continue to oppose a global ban. But we are closing in and this year could be the decider.
Tell India to support the global ban at the Rotterdam Convention in May.
Join EJF as a member
Our work internationally is simple, direct and effective. By providing film and advocacy training to partners in the global south EJF protects the natural environment and the people and wildlife that depend upon it by empowering local communities to investigate, expose and peacefully resolve abuses. We are committed to the principles of non-violence. EJF has no political or religious affiliations and is entirely independent.
A monthly donation of just £3 will help us protect people and planet in the future
Volunteer at EJF events
We need enthusiastic friendly people to help us at events in February and March raising awareness for action and selling EJF campaign t-shirts in London for the Cotton Campaign. Perfect for people who have the gift of the gab, want to help us end forced child labour in the cotton industry and have a bit of spare time to give us this spring.
Apply to be an EJF event volunteer here.
Thank you and have a brilliant start to the New Year.
Best wishes
